2 Corinthians 3:18  And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Elaine loves speaking, writing, and teaching Bible study.  As part of her messages, she challenges women to be real before God and each other.  She uses honesty, transparency and humor to communicate how God has radically changed her life. Elaine has previously served as Women's Ministry Director on staff, and now serves as a Ministry Partner in various roles at Centreville Baptist Church. She holds a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary, and is a graduate of Proverbs 31 Ministries She Speaks Conference and the CLASSeminar speaker training. After living internationally for a number of years, Elaine and her husband have made Northern Virginia their home.  They have 2 adult sons, and are enjoying the "empty nest" phase of life.

Elaine grew up in a small town in Texas and gave her heart to Christ as a pre-teen.  While she strayed from her faith in her late teens and early adult years, God remained faithful.  He used a series of difficulties to bring her back to close intimacy with the One she gave her heart to as a child.  In God's Word she found forgiveness, healing and freedom.  Anything good you see in her is purely evidence of a loving God who never gives up on His children.

A Message From Elaine

The Desire of My Heart:
God has transformed my life, and I desire to communicate God's Word passionately and to share my life transparently in order to bring glory to Him.  I believe that passion for God's Word and transparency before others are both contagious, and my hope is that women walk away with both.

Even though I may have only a short time with women at an event, I like to model actions that are important in my life.  During my talks you might hear me:
  • Becoming excited over truths from God's Word
  • Reciting memorized scripture
  • Having a simple conversation with God through prayer
  • Being honest, transparent and vulnerable about my life
  • Revealing some imperfections!  (I have plenty of personal examples!)
  • Laughing and having fun
My Hope for Women:
I am nothing like I used to be.  Sometimes I look back on my life and can hardly recognize the woman I was -- so amazing is God's transformation.  When God changes us, there should be external evidence of that internal work.

Here are some tangible changes I hope to see in women as a result of our time spent together in God's Word:

Scripture comes alive:
Having a greater hunger for God's Word
Spending more time in Bible study
      Beginning to memorize scripture
Applying God's Word to their daily lives
Connection with God and others:
Developing a deeper and more transparent prayer life
Talking more about God with others
Finding courage to open up with another woman and be "real"
Having more transparency in the body of Christ
Realizing the need for friendships with other women
Healing from guilt and shame of the past
      Finding hope for difficult situations
Desiring to use their own stories to encourage others

Statement of Faith

I believe that the Bible is the inspired and perfect Word of God.  Nothing has changed my life as much as His life-giving Word.
  • All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness.  2 Timothy 3:16
  • For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.  Hebrews 4:12
I believe that the way to salvation is through Jesus Christ and can be found in scripture.
  • There is no one righteous, not even one.  Romans 3:10
  • For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  Romans 3:23
  • For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.  Romans 6:23
  • But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Romans 5:8
  • That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  Romans 10:9
  • For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
I believe that God wants us to have the assurance of His salvation.
  • But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.   John 20:31
